Scopes

Four scopes.
No filler.

We only place subs in these four categories. If your project fits, we're a fast path to a real bid from a sub who can perform. If it doesn't, we'll tell you upfront.

Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings — supply & erection scope
01

Supply & Erection

Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings

For GCs bidding or awarded on PEMB packages — warehouses, distribution, agricultural, hangars, workshops. We route the package to a vetted PEMB supplier and erection crew who can price it competitively and hit the schedule.

  • Clear-span and multi-span rigid frame packages
  • Metal roof, wall, and trim systems
  • Insulation, doors, and accessory coordination
  • Erection subs vetted for OSHA and crew capacity
Structural Steel — supply & erection scope
02

Supply & Erection

Structural Steel

Fabrication and erection subs for commercial buildings, industrial platforms, mezzanines, and misc. metals. Send us your drawings and spec — we route it to the right fab shop and erector for the size and region.

  • Frames, columns, beams, and joist infill
  • Stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals
  • Mezzanines and equipment platforms
  • Coordination with design teams and BIM
Timber Frame — supply scope
03

Supply

Timber Frame

Heavy timber packages for feature buildings — event venues, hospitality, breweries, pavilions, and high-end commercial. We connect you with fabricators who can deliver a shop-drawn, cut-and-labeled package to site.

  • Heavy timber trusses, frames, and posts
  • Traditional joinery or steel connector systems
  • Shop-drawn and pre-fit packages
  • Design-assist support with the architect
Glasshouses — custom structures scope
04

Custom Structures

Glasshouses

Engineered glasshouse and conservatory systems for institutional, hospitality, and specialty commercial projects. We match the scope to fabricators experienced with steel-and-glass envelope work.

  • Steel or aluminum frame systems
  • Custom glazing, ventilation, and shading
  • Conservatories, orangeries, and rooftop enclosures
  • Design-assist and integration with the base building

Common questions

What GCs ask before sending us a package.

Does Buffalo Steel hold the subcontract?

No. Buffalo Steel is a project development firm, not the contract holder. We match your scope to a vetted subcontractor in our network, and the GC contracts directly with that subcontractor. We stay involved through award to keep scope, price, and schedule expectations aligned.

Which scopes do you cover?

Four: pre-engineered metal buildings (supply and erection), structural steel (supply and erection), heavy timber frame (supply), and glasshouse structures. We deliberately do not take general trades — staying narrow is what keeps the subcontractor matches sharp.

Do you work with homeowners or the general public?

No. Buffalo Steel is B2B only. We work with general contractors, construction managers, and developers on projects with real drawings and a schedule. Retail and residential inquiries are politely declined.

What do you need to review a scope?

Drawings, specifications, project location, and target schedule. If a bid date applies, include it. With that package we can identify the right subcontractor and route it for pricing, typically responding within one to two business days.

Where do you work?

Our subcontractor partners cover projects across the United States. Coverage depth varies by scope and region, so send the location with the package and we will confirm whether we have a partner who can perform there.

How much does it cost the GC?

Nothing extra to work with us. Buffalo Steel is compensated by the partner subcontractor on closed deals, so the GC receives a bid from the sub and contracts with them directly.

More on how the model works on our about page, or see the kind of work we place.

Not sure which scope fits?

Send the package. We'll tell you honestly if it's a fit — and if so, get it to the right sub fast.
